- Gene technology
- Immuno-therapeutics (vaccines and immune stimulation)
In addition to these areas of expertise, Merial has an active interest in and ability to develop new technologies and new therapies.
What are our principle selection criteria?
- The product or idea should have a strong intellectual property (IP) protection.
- It should be of global interest: Europe, North and South America, Asia.
- Usually contacts are small or larger biotech companies, other animal health businesses or academia.
- Establish collaborations early rather than late in the development programs.
- Prepared if necessary to enter into collaborative research agreements with an option to license.
- Ability to establish the principle licensing terms upfront.
- Ability to clearly establish the respective responsibilities.
