Q. |
Which works better - IVOMEC® Brand Pour-on or Injection products? |
|
| |
A. |
Both are effective products that have been tested and labeled to maximize their performance. Choose the formulation that best meets the needs of your operation. For example, if liver flukes are a concern, you should choose IVOMEC Plus, which controls liver flukes in addition to other parasites.

Q. |
How does the MERIAL SUREHEALTH Certification process work? |
|
| |
A. |
Replacement heifer protocols are another important tool that can increase buyer-seller confidence. Protocols are also in development for other breeding stock. Immunization, parasite control, and best practices are widely known to protect production and reproductive performance in breeding stock. MERIAL SUREHEALTH certification by a knowledgeable veterinarian will enhance the trust inherent in these transactions.

Q. |
What is included in the IGENITY Test? |
|
| |
A. |
The IGENITY Test Kit contains everything a producer needs for DNA sampling and genotype testing. Hair follicle (or other acceptable DNA samples) are gathered and placed in the collection containers provided. Matched barcodes are provided for uniquely identifying the sample and the animal’s records. An animal record sheet is also provided. The sample is sent in the self-addressed envelope provided. A small envelope containing the DNA sample is sent to Merial labs. Lab test results are returned to producers via the Internet, mail or fax in 10-15 business days from receipt of tissue sample in the laboratory.
