Sponsorships
Merial is proud to sponsor numerous industry events and producer-oriented organizations at local and national levels throughout the United States. Here are just a few organizations that Merial sponsered in 2001:

National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA)

NCBA was founded in 1898. The organization works toward "a dynamic and profitable beef industry, which concentrates resources around a unified plan, consistently meets global consumer needs, and increases demand." NCBA also "encourages the humane treatment of farm animals, the wise stewardship of natural resources and the implementation of good husbandry practice." Over the years Merial has been a consistent sponsor or cosponsor of NCBA programs, including the membership program (Top Hand Club Reception and Inspirational Breakfast), the PAC, the Incoming Leadership Reception, the Convention Grand Finale Evening Event, the Media Room and Media Reception, the Current Issues Discussion, and the CattleFax Outlook Seminar.

Future Farmers of America (FFA)
FFA is "an organization designed to offer students interested in agriculture a chance to explore different areas and compete at regional, state, and national competitions." FFA has a membership of 450,000 young people looking forward to careers in more than 300 agricultural occupations. Merial is involved in assisting with the National FFA Marketing Plan.

World Ag Expo (formerly Tulare Farm Show)

Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Convention (TSCRA)
TSCRA grew out of an organization that traces its roots back to 1877. Today, TSCRA "is an organization comprised of cattle producers and operators of all sizes located primarily in Texas and Oklahoma. Other businesses, all of which are dedicated to the betterment of the industry, have joined." In 2001, TSCRA is offering Beef Quality Assurance training in a number of locations.

Professional Dairy Heifer Growers Association (PDHGA)

The Illinois-based PDHGA is "dedicated to growing high quality dairy heifers" through education; professional development; communication among diary heifer growers, dairy producers, and the animal health industry; setting forth industry standards; and increasing the profitability of heifer growers. Merial is a Gold Sponsor and Sustaining Member of PDHGA.

World Dairy Expo

Billed as the world's largest dairy industry show, World Dairy Expo attracts visitors from almost 100 countries - attendees run the gamut from owners, producers, registered breeders, and researchers to suppliers, distributors, veterinarians and, others. The Expo offers "the opportunity to see the world's best dairy cattle side-by-side with the world's largest dairy technology and product show." It also features a dairy cattle competition, live cattle auctions, educational seminars, and farm tours. Merial is a sponsor of the University of Wisconsin Badger Dairy Club booth at the Expo.

American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP)

The American Association of Bovine Practitioners "is an international association of veterinarians organized to enhance the professional lives of its members through relevant continuing education that will improve the well-being of cattle and the economic success of their owners, increase awareness and promote leadership for issues critical to cattle industries, and improve opportunities for careers in bovine medicine." Merial sponsors awards in the dairy and beef categories of the AABP Awards for Excellence in Preventive Medicine.

Dairy Quality Assurance (DQA) Center

The DQA Center, Inc. provides "programs designed to improve the quality of milk and dairy beef. These programs are implemented at the production site with the veterinarian or dairy consultant of the producer's choice. Participation in our programs helps producers achieve a higher level of quality, while simultaneously reducing costs and improving the bottom line." Merial is involved in the Center's producer and veterinarian education programs.

National Association of Farm Broadcasters (NAFB)
